Missing your tax refund, check with the IRS

In another low point, the government is now redirecting(also known as stealing) taxpayer refunds as seen in this American Thinker article.  Reading the article, you can see that the IRS is using language buried in a 2011 Farm Bill which removed the 10 year statute of limitations on debts owed to the government to seize tax refunds.  In some cases the government has even gone after children to repay debts of their parents without needing any legitimate reason to take such steps.
Just in case you were wondering what other statute of limitations are to see where this supposed "heinous crime" fits, please check out the tail end of this report.  At least we see what is important to the government given these examples of other things that have a shorter statute of limitations.

18 U.S.C. 956(a)(1) (conspiracy to murder, kidnap, or maim persons abroad)- 8 years
18 U.S.C. 844(f) (burning or bombing federal property)- 10 years
18 U.S.C. 1031 (major fraud against the United States)- 7 years

Now that we have that settled, let's have the IRS go harass a few more citizens since that's what they are good at and take the time to thank Congress and the President for continuing to pass and sign these laws that are so "helpful" to the electorate.
