How fragile is the U.S. electrical grid?

There was a time in our country when the word "preppers" would have been equated to citizen and therefore unnecessary as a descriptive term for anyone.  This article from Zero Hedge should cause everyone to pause a little to consider how much trust we put in our modern society and its conveniences. There is no guarantee that things will always continue as they have been and surely any faith in our government to fill this role is nothing less than substituting state for God.
