In this article from RNS, a Rev. Cheryl B. Anderson, tries to take Hobby Lobby to task for what she brands "bad theology" all the while committing some of the worst exegesis ever as evidenced by her commentary. First of all, she conflates religious leaders with the Hobby Lobby corporation as if the two are equal in the scenario she proposes and then, by inference claims that Hobby Lobby's goal of preventing murder through abortion is somehow an affront to compassion and mercy. Only in the mind of progressives like Cheryl Anderson would trying to prevent murder be equated with legalism. She goes on to insult poor people as if they cannot take care of themselves, absolve poor people of being able to control their own bodily functions, and places the entire burden of responsibility on corporations, government and other people to provide contraception to the masses. Forget whether someone's conscience actually tells them that this action would be sinful, we are doing this in the name of mercy. I can only imagine the type of crap she is teaching at the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary which must be turning out some well trained graduates.
I think the rational here is that when you are criticizing someone's moral position a logically constructed argument is not required.
